SASNET – Swedish South Asian Studies Network – is hereby proud to announce that the 18th European Conference on Modern South Asian Studies will take place at Lund University, Sweden, Tuesday 6 – Friday 9 July, 2004. Scholars engaged in research and teaching concerning South Asia with regard to all periods and fields of study are welcome to take part in the conference.

SASNET was given the task to organize the conference by the European Association for South Asian Studies, EASAS, at the previous conference, the 17th European Conference on Modern South Asian Studies, held at Heidelberg, Germany in September 2002.

Panels suggestions are welcome, and should be sent by e-mail. Closing date for suggestions is June, 30, 2003. The suggestions should contain:

• Name of the Panel,
• Short Abstract of the Panel’s content, and
• Name of co-convenors

Deadline for registration with submission of abstract: January, 6, 2004
