This workshop offers the training for documenting histories of families, communities, and organizations whether you are an experienced practitioner or a novice in the field.
Skill development for: Interviewing techniques fund raising,
ethical dilemmas, transcription, and project management. Networking
opportunities to explore ideas, experiences and strategies with a variety of practitioners using oral history methods for many different projects.
Transportation: Free parking at Fort Mason. Information on public
transportation provided upon registration.
Instructor: Charles T. Morrissey brings his 40 years of expertise as a
renowned oral historian to this event. He is the Oral History Consultant at Baylor College of Medicine. His extensive client list includes The Truman Library, The John F. Kennedy Library, The Ford Foundation, The Pew Charitable Trusts, The Carnegie Corporation and the Bill Clinton History Program, among others. He is a former President of the Oral History Association, a former Director of the National Council on Public History and is the author of many professional articles about oral history techniques and applications.
