The Sussex University Postgraduate History Forum invites papers for its 3rd annual conference, to be held on Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th March 2003 at the University of Sussex, Brighton. This year’s theme will be ‘Fresh Perspectives on Conflict and Change’. This a conference for postgraduates students ran by postgraduates students.
In order to reflect the breadth and depth of current postgraduate research, students should feel free to interpret ‘Conflict and Change’ as widely as they wish. Postgraduate history students and those studying related topics from across Britain, Europe are invited as speakers or attendants. We welcome papers that offer fresh perspectives on historical methods, theories and topics, such as:
- Social Movements
- Post-Colonialism
- Race & Nationality
- Gender & Sexuality
- Politics & Government
- Contested Identities
- Globalisation
- Art & Culture
The conference will also feature guest speakers, workshops and skill sessions on topics such as: Oral History, Presentation Skills, The Role of the Internet in Historical Research and many more.
Final Papers should be 15-20 minutes reading time in length.
