Theme: Black Studies: What's Goin' On?
The Black Studies Program at UMKC is sponsoring its First Annual Midwestern Conference on Black Studies. We are inviting scholars to present their research in the Humanities, Social Sciences and the Arts. Panels will be developed depending on the number and quality of entries. We are especially interested in the state of Black Studies Programs in the Midwest region and regional research using oral history. Other topics of interest include Black Women's Studies and Black Popular Culture. Mail your abstract (250 words) to the address below. Deadline for receipt of abstracts is January 15, 2003.
The regular conference registration fee is $30. For students and seniors, the fee is $15. This fee includes a Friday evening reception and a Saturday lunch. Send name, affiliation, and address with checks payable to UMKC Black Studies to the address below.
