Violence has been a central object of feminist analysis and theorization. We invite contributions from a broad range of perspectives that reflect on histories of violence as well as the place of violence for the historiography of gender. Working from a broad definition of violence as involving the infliction of harm or suffering and the production of sexed vulnerability, this Special Issue will include work that explores the ambiguous status of violence as a form of gendered embodiment across chronology and location. Co-Editors: Shani D’Cruze, Manchester Metropolitan University, Anupama Rao, Barnard College, Columbia University. For full CFP email: arao@barnard.edu or Shani D'Cruze.
