Call for contributions to The Red Scare after 1945, a volume in the series History in Dispute. I need authors to write original essays of approximately 1500 words from opposing viewpoints in response to a series of questions about the Red Scare. Questions include whether there was a Communist threat in the United States after World War II, the impact of the Red Scare on a variety of social institutions (labor, education, civil service, etc.), the role of the FBI, the INS, and the judiciary in the anti-Communist crusade, and the legacy of the Red Scare.
