Weather-related papers for session at SW/TX Popular Culture Association meeting 2/12-2/17, 2003. Albquerque, New Mexico. History, Popular Culture, Art, Economics,Media, etc. in Texas, California, Oklahoma, New Mexico and other west/southwest areas.

Western Weather: Myth and Reality. How weather affects/is part of west/southwest art, literature, collective behavior, history. Possible topics include:

  • Weather Events (Galveston Flood, OKC tornado, etc), weather history (Dust Bowl, climate).
  • BLizzards, Tornadoes.
  • Storm Chasing, Weather in Media, science fiction , weather & economy, weather in art, regional weather phenomena, wildfires.

    Papers treating any aspect of weather are welcome.
