We have just published a new text, entitled Law, Media, and Culture: The Landscape of Hate by Peter Lang Press.(Janis Judson and Donna Bertazzoni) The book, written before the 9/11 events, addresses the idea of how hatred has become a national value in contemporary culture. We examine issues of law, media coverage of hate crimes and hate speech, how society inculcates hatred through music and film, and how mainstream hate is even part of the language of politicians. We have also discussed the role that gender plays in the development of hatred. We can be reached at the email address below.
