The Department of History at the University of Alabama welcomes paper proposals for the Second Annual Conference on Race and Place, to be held in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, March 7-9, 2003. This year’s conference will focus on race and ethnicity in the United States, Latin America, the Caribbean, the Atlantic world, and/or the African Diaspora. Individual papers and complete panels will be considered.

Those interested in presenting a paper should submit a one-page abstract and a c.v. by November 1, 2002, to the contact below. Submissions will be accepted via e-mail or regular mail.
