The Department of English at the Univ. of New England is hosting a conference on Law & Humanities, June 14, 2003, at our Westbrook College campus in Portland, Maine. The topic of the conference is "Guilt." Professor Austin Sarat (Amherst college), President of the Association for the Study of Law, Culture, and the Humanities will deliver the keynote address. We invite panel or individual paper proposals from scholars across the humanities, as well scholars of law and jurisprudence. The deadline for submissions is December 15, 2002.
