This all-day symposium commemorates the valor and sacrifice of American Sailors, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, and their allied counterparts who fought the last two, bloody years of the Korean War.
Symposium will be held at the U.S. Navy Memorial's Naval Heritage Center, 701 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, D.C. (at the Navy Memorial/National Archives stop on the Metro), on Thursday, October 24, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Meals are included with the $20 registration fee.
The Honorable Susan Livingstone, the Under Secretary of the Navy, will open the symposium and Colonel Allan R. Millett, PhD, USMC (Ret.), President of the United States Commission on Military History and distinguished author of Semper Fidelis: The History of the United States Marine Corps, will give the keynote address. Topics discussed at the symposium will center around three themes: Combat at the 38th Parallel; the Air War; and the Naval War.
