Seeking paper proposals on Film and Computer Culture for the 24th annual meeting of the Southwest/Texas PCA/ACA at Albuquerque. Papers may focus on film representations of computer culture, films involving artificial intelligence, and related topics; and on computer techniques in film production. We invite “close readings” of particular films as well as broader cultural studies.
Please submit a one-page description of your project along with a brief account of your academic career and any research experience in this area. (Note: you do not have to be an established expert in the field; selection is made on the basis of the interest your paper is likely to attract.)
Send submission and abbreviated CV by December 1, preferably via email, to Joseph Chaney, the Area Chair for Computer Culture.
