Delegates and paper givers will be academics, students, women and men in associated areas (museums, libraries etc) and independent scholars. The Conference will consider how women have been represented in the historical record and how women have challenged men's claim to own the spatial and intellectual terrain. Strands may cover: Hearth and Home, Nation and Identity, Travel and Empire, Mapping the Female Body, Science, Medicine and Technology, Intellectual and Cultural Terrains, Workplace, Sexuality, Socio/Political and other spheres.
