"White Resistance to Black Freedom Struggles"

I am seeking papers for a proposed panel for the 2004 OAH conference to be held in Boston, MA from March 25-28. The theme of this panel is "White Resistance to Black Freedom Struggles." I am seeking papers from all periods in US History that examine the ways and reasons why whites have opposed and/or resisted freedom struggles by African Americans in the United States.
