Call for Papers:
Politics, Patronage, and Piety in Early Modern Britain: A Conference to Mark the Retirement of Professor Paul Christianson.
Keynote Speaker: Professor John Morrill
Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, May 2-3, 2003
Twenty minute papers on any topic of relevance to the history of early modern Britain are welcome. The conference will focus, however, on themes explored in the works of Professor Christianson, author of Discourse on History, Law, and Governance in the Public Career of John Selden, 1610-1635; Reformers and Babylon: Apocalyptic Visions From the Reformation to the Eve of the Civil War; and a series of articles on such topics as Patronage and Civil War historiography.
Please send a c.v. and a brief (300-500 word) abstract of the proposed paper by January 5, 2003.
