Seeking papers for a panel on American poetry spanning the revolutionary
era to the New Republic, c. 1763-1800. Topics could include, but are not
limited to, the intersection of nationalism and poetics, the relationship of American identities to Old World poetries, transatlantic political and/or aesthetic influences, etc.
Presentations will be 20 minutes in length. Please send a 250 word abstract, as well as a one-page CV, by September 18 to Lisa Hogan.
The Northwest Society of Eighteenth Century Studies Conference will be
held November 15-17, 2002 at the University of Washington, Seattle.
