36th Meeting of Northeast Aero Historians
The Cradle of Aviation is hosting the conference. All sessions are on Saturday at the Long Island Marriott Hotel. There are five presenters and the topics are: "The Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II, it's development and Usage", "Gathering the Collection for the Cradle", "Airships over Long Island, Past and Present", "Test Flying the F-14 Tomcat", and "The Spirit of St. Louis."
The Cradle opened on May 20. It has a spectacular air-space collection in eight galleries providing a chronological walk through the development of aviation on Long Island. Many of the historic planes are quite rare with eleven being the only of their type in existence.
Saturday evening's dinner is at the Cradle of Aviation (across from the L.I. Marriott) and there will be a presentation of the Historian of the Year Award.
On Sunday there is a museum tour and IMAX movie.
Spouses are welcome and reservation deadline is October 4th.
