For the fifth consecutive year, the Students' Committee of the American
Studies Association will sponsor a Roommate Connection Service for the ASA's
Annual Meeting. This year’s meeting will take place in Houston, Texas, November 14-17, 2002. In response to graduate students’ requests for help in minimizing the costs of attending conferences, the committee will work to connect conference attendees looking to share a room. This service is not limited to graduate students; anyone seeking a roommate for the conference may apply. Rather than posting your request for a roommate to a list, simply send a
message to Themis Chronopoulos. Themis will forward your message to a possible “match.” You will handle all the arrangements from there. Please note that by submitting a request to the Roommate Connection Service, you give us permission to forward the entire contents of your message to potential roommates.
Please send the following information to Themis at the address below.
- Your name and e-mail address
- The dates you will be staying in Houston
- Whether you HAVE or NEED space
- Where you prefer to stay (name of hotel etc)5. The maximum number of
roommates you would prefer to have
- Any preferences for roommate(s) (e.g. gender, smoking,
gay/lesbian friendly)
Information about the conference can be found on our website.
