We invite proposals for papers to be presented at a conference on Courts, Communities, and Conflict, to be held in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on Friday, October 3 and Saturday, October 4, 2003. Some conference sessions will concern the history of the Nova Scotia Supreme Court, which will celebrate its 250th anniversary in 2004. Papers on related topics - in particular papers on the legal history of Atlantic Canada and on histories of courts and other fora offering formal or informal dispute resolution in any other jurisdiction - are solicited. Comparative and biographical approaches are welcome.
