The Nature in Legend and Story Newsletter is seeking submissions for its next issue, which will explore "The Nature of Childhood." Submissions are due by Friday September 13, 2002. We welcome essays, papers, reviews, poems, stories, and artworks related to this theme, such as:
childhood memories of nature that influenced your later life
the use of storytelling in environmental education for children
brief reveries/reviews/retellings of nature stories, songs, or books you loved as a child (or love sharing with your own children)
interactions between children and animal companions
We also welcome submissions more generally related to our broader topic of "Nature in Legend and Story." These might include nature stories or poems; "totem articles" reviewing myths, legends, and stories about a given plant or animal and/or presenting bibliographies of related literature; brief research notes or queries; drawings or photographs; etc. For more information about NILAS, visit our website.
Please send submissions or queries to Dave Aftandilian at the address below.
