The Society for the Study of French History, Seventeenth Annual Conference, Nottingham 10-11 April 2003
'France: Centres and Peripheries'
Programme Details
The broad theme that has been chosen for the 2003 conference is 'France: Centres and Peripheries'. This theme should be interpreted in the widest possible sense, covering not only traditional political and institutional issues as France evolved from the late medieval period onwards, but also wider social and cultural matters, the changing nature of provincial life and the role of other 'centres' beside Paris. Papers may be given in English or French. Those wishing to offer one(25-30 minutes) on a late medieval or early modern subject should contact Michael Jones (michael.jones@nottingham.ac.uk); for later periods please contact colin.heywood@nottingham.ac.uk or paul.smith@nottingham.ac.uk as soon as possible.
