The Southern African Society of Legal Historians will hold an International Conference on the theme: Freedom, Justice and Equality - Three pillars of legal history, on the campus of the University of Stellenbosch, Western Cape, from 15 - 17 January 2003.
The South African legal system is one of a few mixed legal systems consisting of both civilian and common law components. To accommodate these traditions in the general theme of the conference, sessions will be devoted to:
