The American presidency has long been studied from a political or historical perspective. The American President in Popular Culture, however, seeks to address the subject from a popular culture perspective. This reference work, to be published by Greenwood Press, seeks authors for the following areas: paintings and sculptures, newspapers, political cartoons and comic strips, popular music, television, radio, film, magazines and tabloids, memorabilia, the stage, and legends, myths, stories and jokes. The essays will be all-inclusive and will vary in length depending upon the assigned topic. The text is designed as a general reference book for high school, public, and higher education libraries. Deadline for completion of the essays is June 30, 2003.
