"Africa Confronts Globalisation" is the twenty-fifth annual conference of the African Studies Association of Australasia and the Pacific (AFSAAP). It will be held at the Macquarie University campus (north west of the Sydney CBD) and runs across three days (Thursday 3rd - Saturday 5th October). The conference is preceded by a Postgraduate Workhop of one day, on Wednesday 2nd. Papers are invited on any aspect of African affairs, and current streams are shown on the Web. The conference theme is broad, allowing for papers reflecting the different disciplines and diverse interests of teachers and researchers, professionals in government and NGOs, business, the churches and the African communities across Australia.
