The 16th annual ICBH Summer Conference on Post-Imperial Britain includes sessions on: Decolonisation, British Politics in Transition, National Identity and Culture, Anglo-Caribbean Perspectives, The Economics of the End of Empire, The Commonwealth, Publishing and Literature, Cricket, Post-Imperial Stress Syndrome, Crime and Policing, Architecture, Comparative Perspectives (France, Portugal and the Netherlands), Post-Imperial Irish Identities, Visual Culture, the Monarchy, Welfare and Citizenship, Music, Multiculturalism, Religion, and Global Organisations.
The conference will take place from 8-10 July 2002 in Senate House, University of London, Malet St, London WC1E 7HU. A grant from the Royal Historical Society allows postgraduate students to apply for help with registration fees. The full programme and registration details are available at
