The online exhibit documents the historic gathering of over 20,000 women (including Bella Abzug, Margaret Mead, Barbara Jordan, Kate Millett, Betty Friedan, Ivy Botini, Ladybird Johnson, Betty Ford, Rosalyn Carter, etc) in November of 1977 in Houston, Texas, wherein the National Plan of Action was ratified. Among the resolutions were those affirming reproductive freedom and protection from discrimination based on sexual or affectional preference. Photographs are captioned and the complete text of the National Plan of Action is online. The images have been digitally restored from 35mm Ektachrome slides created at the conference by fine art photographer, Linda Griffith, and are available as prints for archiving, exhibition or private collection.
