An international conference to be held in Manchester on 26 & 27 June 2002, on the theme of personality in British politics. The keynote speakers are Prof. Peter Marsh (University of Birmingham, biographer of Joseph Chamberlain) and Prof. Philip Williamson (University of Durham, biographer of Stanley Baldwin. A wide range of papers will be presented, on topics from images of leadership in wartime Britain to Margaret Thatcher and gender.
