The University of Memphis Department of History is pleased to announce THE FOURTH ANNUAL GRADUATE STUDENT CONFERENCE IN AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY which will be held October 18-20, 2002 on the University of Memphis campus.
Graduate students wishing to present a paper based on original research on any topic in African American history are invited to submit a curriculum vitae and a one-page abstract which discusses the paper's thesis, sources, and conclusions, postmarked no later than June 1, 2002.
All program papers received in a timely manner will be considered for the "BEST PAPER" honor and monetary award.
Submissions should be directed to the address below.
Participants will be notified of acceptance by July 1, 2002. Completed papers must be received no later than August 31, 2002, to secure program placement.
