The University of Sussex Postgraduate History Forum has organised a conference for postgraduate students in the humanities and social sciences on the theme of 'Inclusion and Exclusion'. The conference, which is funded by the ESRC and the University of Sussex, will take place at the University of Sussex, Brighton, on 11th and 12th April 2002.
Postgraduate students from around the country are coming to give papers on topics such as exclusion by gender, post-war European fascism, disability history, identity politics and oral history. There will also be a careers session which will focus on getting an academic job, archive work, and working in the media (tbc).
The cost of the event is £5 for students/unwaged, £10 waged, and includes lunch on both days. A social event has been organised for the evening of the 11th and there are a limited number of rooms available in campus accommodation for participants.
