To mark the Golden Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II, the Society for Court Studies is holding a two-day conference (10-11 May 2002) in London to examine the impact of film, television and the mass-market image on the British monarchy since the nineteenth century. Speakers will include Robert Lacey, David Starkey, Hugo Vickers and Philip Ziegler. Lord Snowdon will take part in a discussion on the 1969 investiture of the Prince of Wales. Independent Television News (ITN) will present a special session on its coverage of the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales.
This conference is being held in conjunction with the Society's concert of coronation music in Westminster Abbey on 10 May.
