John Krige, editor of History and Technology, would particularly like to encourage the submission of papers dealing with:
The social shaping of technology and technological systems. In the light of the recent attack on the World Trade Center, we
particularly welcome papers by historians of technology which throw light on the underlying causes of these forms of aggression, and their implications for the way we study the history of technology in rich, industrialized
countries.
The general scope of the journal is the understanding of technology as embedded in society, exploring its links with science on the one hand, and the cultural, economic, political and institutional contexts of its genesis and development on the other.
The journal is now published by Routledge and will be available online and in print from 2002. History and Technology is also available on SARA - the table of contents alerting service. Please visit: http://www.tandf.co.uk/sara
