The conference will focus on the literature and historical development of the San Joaquin Valley region of California. Topics for paper proposals might include San Joaquin Valley writers, literary works set in the valley, poetry, agricultural history, environmental history, social history, or the history of the region's diverse ethnic communities. Individual papers, as well as proposals for panels, are invited from faculty, graduate students, and independent scholars.
