Call for papers for an international, interdisciplinary conference, "The Future of Christianity in the West," to be held at the University of Otago, New Zealand, December 6-9, 2002. Themes to be dealt with may include: the state of the secularisation thesis, the past, present and future of Christianity in Australia and New Zealand, comparative Christianities in Europe, North America, and/or Australasia, problems and prospects of Christianity in the public square, and the impact of globalisation and religious pluralism on religious life in Western societies. Those wishing to present papers (30 minutes in length) are invited to submit an abstract of no more than 200 words with a brief C.V. by May 15 to the Conference Secretariat. Proposals will be reviewed as soon as they are received. Expressions of interest are also welcome.
