Frühe Neuzeit Interdisziplinär (FNI) will sponsor several sessions at the Sixteenth Century Studies Conference held in San Antonio, Texas, October 24-27, 2002. We welcome proposals for individual papers or sessions that address the culture, politics, and society of German-speaking central Europe during the “long sixteenth century,” including music, art history, religion, literature, and history of science. We especially welcome presentations which work across disciplines or suggest innovative approaches to the early modern world. One or more sessions will be devoted to new directions in scholarship, focusing on the work of younger scholars and others with a fresh approach to sixteenth-century German studies.
