This full-day workshop will cover the range of activities involved in
conducting oral history interviews and developing repository-based oral
history projects. The instructors will discuss oral history as a research methodology, choosing interviewees, preparing for and conducting interviews, recording options including digital video and/or audio applications, transcribing interviews, legal and ethical issues affecting oral history, archival concerns and financial considerations in developing oral history projects. The instructors for this workshop will be Donald Ritchie of the Senate Historical Office and Anne Ritchie of the National Gallery of Art, Gallery Archives. Don and Anne Ritchie are recognized leaders in the field of oral history. For those looking for a great introduction to oral history and more, this workshop is a must.
