First Class Exhibits on a Fourth Class Budget: Producing Professional
Displays with Limited Resources

In this full-day workshop, participants will practice simple yet effectivetechniques for designing, creating and implementing professional-looking exhibits on a limited budget. Participants will learn many skills for mounting effective exhibits including: how to write, create, and mount effective exhibit labels; how to create easy, inexpensive exhibitcomponents; how to create facsimiles; and other skills. Attendees will also become familiar with basic exhibition materials and supplies, and they will learn how to use standard office supplies and resources to manufacture creative, attractive displays. The workshop leader will be Laura Baxley, Assistant Keeper, North Carolina Collection Gallery, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This workshop features hands-on activities in which participants not only get to apply what is being taught, but have fun in the process.
