I am an established author doing research for a potential next book.
While not an historian, I want to give a full picture of life in America during WWII. My focus is on women, though I'm intersted in the fullest picture I can get. I have read No Ordinary Time and David Kennedy's Freedom From Fear.
In addition, I'm looking for WW II "camp wives" to interview...wives of enlisted men who following their husbands from one training camp to another for sometimes over a year before the men were shipped overseas.
Many of these women left comfortable lives/jobs/family behind to negotiate their way through some pretty testy times. They showed grit, strength, ingenutiy and real love and support for their husbands.
