The College of Arts and Sciences and the Department of History at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa are pleased to announce "Race and Place in Global Perspective," a conference of scholars from across the United States addressing issues of race in the modern world. Panels will explore researching race in a global perspective, strategies of resistance, ideologies of empowerment, colonialism and national identity, the meanings of racial identity, and the role of African-American neighborhoods in community building.
