I recently discovered that the Lion full-text database was enriched by by ethnicity query. Early last week I searched for Italian-American writers and got only Marotta, though I knew that G. Corso and L. Ferlinghetti were in the database. I sent my complaints to the editor, and I've just received from Matt Kibble, English and American Literature editor, this answer:
"Thank you for contacting us about Literature Online. You will be pleased to know that we recently added 'Italian-American' as an ethnicity for a further 16 authors in our Bio-Bibliographical Database, including both Corso and Ferlinghetti. This change will appear in the next monthly release of Literature Online."
Therefore stay tuned and we'll see who are our new champions.
