The Center of European Studies (CEE) of Havana, Cuba calls to the 10th
International Conference on European Studies to be held from 1st-4th October 2002 at the Palco Hotel, Havana's Convention Center Complex.

This Conference will have a special significance, as it will mark ten years of academic exchanges, where specialists and social scientists from Cuba and abroad have debated a variety of European issues. Colleagues from European and Latin American countries as well as from United States and Canada have participated in previous conferences, together with representatives from several bodies of the European Union and other International Organizations.
Who Participates?
Professionals, researchers and students of social sciences from teaching and research institutions.
How to participate?
Participants may register individually or grouped in panels. A registration fee of $80.00 USD should be paid, which covers accreditation, lunch and coffee break during the sessions.
Other academic activities may be suggested to the Organizing Committee:
Masterly Conferences, special presentations, round tables, etc. The participants will have fifteen minutes for the presentation of their papers. Official working languages will be Spanish and English.

- European Integration: domestic situation and foreign projection
- Foreign Policy and Common Security Policy of the European Union
- Expansion towards the East of the European Union and NATO
- Actors, political and social processes in Europe
- Transformation in Eastern Europe
- Post-Soviet social-political and economic scenario
- European NGO's and North-South relations
Participants presenting their papers on these or other issues linked to
European topics are requested to send their registration form and a summary of no more than 250 words, by e-mail or fax, to the Organizing Committee not later than 1st September 2002. The Organizing Committee reserves the right of selecting papers to be included in the Final Program of the Conference, as well as assigning papers or commentators to a certain panel and to reorganize panels.

- Single room with breakfast and dinner at $55.00 USD
- Double room with breakfast and dinner for two persons at $90.00 USD
