On the weekend of 15-17 March 2002, the University of Western Ontario will host "The Future of the Past: International Perspectives on the Relevance of History in the 21st Century." The conference brings together academic and public historians, journalists, historical theorists, school teachers, and other educators to discuss the state of the discipline.
The keynote address will be given by Keith Jenkins (University College, Chichester). There will also be 10 roundtables -- with speakers including Christopher Browning, Bonnie Smith, Alison Prentice, Michael Bellesiles, Mark Kingwell, and Peter Seixas -- and a number of other sessions and teaching workshops.
