The activism of today's youth belies the accusation that youth today are apathetic. From the democracy demonstrations in Tien An Men Square to the Anti-Globalization campaign, young people have been front and center in the struggle for justice. Today, The erosion of civil rights in the US, violence around the world, and globalization has made youth activism essential. The conference will introduce papers panels, workshops, and performances on youth activism including anti-Globalism, international human rights, cross-cultural feminism, and Mumia Abu-Jamal.
Student activists are especially invited to participate.
