We are glad to announce you the birth of a new discussion list called Vingt-Cinquante (Twenties-Fifties). It is dedicated to the Nineteen twenties-Nineteen fifties political history and subtitled "From an after-war to another one".
Its editorial board is composed by a network of French scholars.
It focuses on international and diplomatic history, intellectual history, war studies, organization sociology, regardless of the countries involved. The interest for a period which imperceptibly recedes the contemporary history has never been denied.
Vingt-Cinquante hopes to offer a contribution to the understanding of these years as a whole, beyond the traditional division between inter-war, war, after-war. The list, which was created in September 2001, is still evolving but from now on provides : a forum for historians, welcomes book reviews, bibliographies, announcements about conferences as well as colloquium, call for papers and tries to draw up a list of the French doctoral dissertations about the theme of the list.
The working languages are mainly French and English, though other languages can be accepted.
