Moshe Lazar, Ph.D. (University of Southern California), one of hte world's leading interpreters of Sephardi culture, will be leading an 8-session course, "After the Expulsion: The Sephardi Diaspora." The course will explore the following topics: Iberian Jewry before 1492; the Expulsion and forced conversions under Catholicism; the diaspora after 1492; the Ottoman Empire; the role of Jewish women; the meaning of the Sephardi experience for modern Central European intellectuals.
