The "Mexican War Journal," a quarterly publication of the Descendants of Mexican War Veterans, a refereed professional academic journal, is seeking authors and book reviewers and pen-and-ink artists on Mexican War (1846-1848) topics for upcoming issues.
The "Mexican War Journal" publishes articles of a historical and genealogical nature pertaining to the Mexican War. Acceptable submissions could be on any related topic. Also accepted are edited letters from Mexican War soldiers or other participants, diary and journal entries, historical articles on a single soldier or unit, bibliographies, and research notes on ongoing Mexican War research. Art sketches (black pen and ink) are also accepted for cover designs and artwork inside the issue. In the past, a master thesis or two dealing with the Mexican War have been published in the "Mexican War Journal" in parts.
MA and PhD students are highly encouraged to submit for publication. Historiographies are also accepted for review. Generous help is given by the editorial staff for style and proper citation technique.
Also needed are book reviewers for the journal's book review section, to review the large number of books published on the war and not yet reviewed in the journal. Interested reviewers without a title in mind for review may contact the associate editor for a list of books needing reviewed.
All articles are reviewed. All researchers are encouraged to submit.
