Papers from postgraduates working in the field of American Studies who are based in the Eastern England Region (covering Kent, Essex and South East London) are invited for a one-day conference to launch the newly-established Eastern England branch of the British Association for American Studies (EEBAAS). The conference will be held on Saturday May 25th 2002 at the University of Kent to be hosted jointly by the School of History and the Centre for American Studies. The conference theme is broad and any aspect of American society, culture or politics will be considered. Please send a 500-word abstract by March 1, 2002 to:
