2002 International Sympusium on U.S. Social Development and Sino-U.S. Communications
This is to call for papers for 2002 International Sympusium on U.S. Social Development and Sino-U.S.Communications which will take place in Chngchun,Jilin,China, from June 22-24,2002.This event is co-sponsored by the Institute of American Studies of Northeast Normal University, The Institute of American Studies of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences,Jilin Society of American Economy,and U.S. Consulate General in Shenyang,China. Major subjects to be discussed during the sympusium include:(1)U.S. Social History;(2)U.S.Religion and Its Secularization;(3)U.S.Government Management Under Market Economy;(4)U.S.Culture and Its Transformation;(5)Sino-U.S Communications.Anyone whose focus is on issues in any of the above areas are welcome to attend this event.We regard your participation very valuable and can make contribution to further understanding and friendship between the peoples in China and the United States.
Those who would like to participate in this event,please send us the tilte and abstract of your paper by the end of the second week in Feb.2002.And the deadline is the end of Feb.2002.
After the synpusium we will publish a treatise by selecting from all of the participants the papers that are of high quality.Anyone who is interested in this initiative,please limit your paper within 20 pages,doulbe-spaced with footnotes and send us a copy of your dtailed paper for our evaluation. Once slectected,each writer will be informed of and is asked to pay 50 U.S.Dollars for publication fee.When the tratise published we will send a copy to each of the contributor.
International participants are responsible for their own international transportation to and from Changchun and each participant will be asked to pay 100 U.S. Dollars as registration fee.The Conference will be responsible for food,hotel accommadation and local airport (or railway station) transportation.
Specific schedule and the palce of this event,where this event will take place will be provided in follow-up information.Once your participation in this event is confirmed,a formal letter of invitation will be mailed to you for your visa purpose in accordance withe address provided by the participant.
