Reminder--The Institute of African American Research at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites submissions for its 8th Annual Conference. This year's theme is "Dialogues on the Diaspora". Papers should:
- Address contemporary transnational flows of people, information and knowledge, and/or cultural expressions between contintental Africa and its Diaspora.
- Explore (historical) continuities between continental Africa and its Diaspora.
- Or that examine the above relationships between populations.
Submit 3 copies of abstract, paper along with electronic copy (25 page
maximum plus references) by JANUARY 18, 2002.
CONFERENCE DATES: February 22 & 23, 2002
Best Graduate Paper: $400
Best Undergraduate Paper: $200
