The Historians of Islamic Art will hold a Majlis in conjunction with the annual conference of the College Art Association in Philadelphia in February 2002. The Majlis will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2002 on the University of Pennsylvania campus, and will be hosted by Professor Renata Holod. It will include a HIA business meeting as well as formal paper presentations.

Paper proposals on any topic related to Islamic art and architecture are invited. Deadline: January 15, 2002.

HIA continues to support graduate student travel (up to a maximum of $500.00)to affiliated conferences (CAA & MESA) on a competitive basis. Applicants must provide evidence of an accepted paper (dealing with or touching upon aspects of Islamic art and Archtecture) at the CAA or MESA conference. To be considered, applicants should state their intention to apply for funding by January 15.
