The Oral History Association has extended the deadline for submissions for its 2002 conference to January 11. The conference will be held in San Diego, California, October 23-27, 2002.
We welcome papers that relay on oral history or other kinds of qualitative interviewing or that discuss the uses of interviews (in films and other media, in museums, in teaching) in some way. Papers may be on any subject and may be based in history, sociology, anthropology, folklore, film studies, performance studies, or any other relevant discipline.
We also welcome papers devoted to theoretical and methodological issues involved in interviewing and ones that contribute to the conference theme “the internationalization of everyday life.”
Applicants must submit three copies of their proposals. For full sessions, submit a title, an abstract of no more than two pages, and a one-page vitae for each participant. For individual proposals, submit a one-page abstract and a one-page vitae or resume of the presenter.
Proposals must be postmarked by January 11. They may be submitted by mail or fax; no e-mail attachments will be accepted. Each submission must be accompanied by a cover sheet, which can be printed from our website: www.dickinson.edu/oha. Click on Call for Papers.
Proposals should be submitted to the address below.
